MediaStyle’s Next Chapter
For nearly 10 years, MediaStyle has been providing leading communications support for Canada’s changemakers. We have had the honour of working with some incredible people who are focused on solving some of the world’s biggest challenges. And it’s working. The folks we work with are redefining the media landscape and more voices of change are being heard.
Today, I am pleased to unveil the next exciting chapter for MediaStyle.
My incredible business partners Caitlin Kealey and Allyson Chisnall will be taking on the leadership of the firm.
Caitlin is a leader in top-tier media relations and communications strategy. Her teams have been responsible for developing unprecedented relationships between communities and the media. This year, she was named to Ottawa’s Top 40 Under 40 and was selected to the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference. As MediaStyle’s new CEO (our first!), she will bring her leadership on strategic communications to ensure the company grows its thoughtful, empathetic approach to campaigns and outreach.
Allyson has deep roots in Ottawa’s business community with more than 30 years of experience running and scaling up businesses. Allyson is the longest serving MediaStyle team member and has been a key resource for our team for over seven years. Not only impressive at business: she is an IronMan and motivational speaker. She complements Caitlin’s vision and skillset perfectly, which will be a huge asset as MediaStyle’s CFO and COO.
So, what’s next Ian?
Blame the University of Pennsylvania’s Centre for Social Impact Strategy and my husband.
Part of the blame goes to the University of Pennsylvania, where I recently finished a program at its Centre for Social Impact Strategy. The program challenged me to think big, really big, about how I want to make a difference in the coming years. This will involve launching a new social enterprise in the healthcare innovation space. I’ll also be collaborating closely with the Concordia University’s Workshop on Social Science Research (WSSR) on integrating some of MediaStyle’s best social R&D IP into their program.
This transition will also allow me to relocate to spend more time with family in Montreal, where my husband recently rejoined the media industry as a radio host. I will continue to provide strategic counsel and support on MediaStyle projects.
When I founded MediaStyle almost 10 years ago, I could never had imagined the talented, inspirational people that would come into my life as a result. Caitlin and Allyson are at the top of that list, and I’m so excited to see the incredible places they will take MediaStyle next. Please join me in congratulating them on their new roles and don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to learn more about what I’m up to.
