Trending on our Slack: Week 23 – The Good, the Bad and the Ugly· June 11, 2016
Every week there are so many news stories, so many new favourite songs, and so many GIFs that are shared amongst the team that it can sometimes be hard to narrow down the ones to highlight in these very-official-and-very-important roundups. But, with a little inspiration, the Slack roundup choices were clear.
We welcomed two new members to our team! Margie and Ryan started on Monday and we’re thrilled to have them in the office.
That sinkhole! Once it was confirmed that there were no injuries or deaths (with the exception of the van, may it rest in peace), we got slightly lost in the land of memes and Twitter updates on the Ottawa sinkhole. One of our designers even discovered a scientific correlation between the amount of #ottawasinkhole tweets and office productivity.
Unless you were completely avoiding the internet, it seems impossible that you would have missed the buzz around The Powerful Letter The Stanford Victim Read Aloud To Her Attacker. If you haven’t yet read it, we’d recommend it. The letter is eloquent, scathing, and even humorous at times – it certainly doesn’t belong in “The Ugly” category, but the crime that it resulted from does.
