Spotlight on: Prepping for the Election· October 16, 2015
The 79-day election wraps up on Monday night. Your organization has today and all of Monday to prepare for the results, so make the most of your time by following our advice.
Prepare for all scenarios
Write a press release for every possible scenario – a minority and a Conservative, Liberal or NDP majority. Have these ready to publish as soon as results come in, freeing your organization from scrambling to write a statement on Monday night or Tuesday morning.
Get your reporters in a row
On Monday, reach out to key reporters and remind them of your availability as a source for industry reaction. In the days after Monday, reporters will be searching for every angle on the election results. Put your organization at the front and centre of media reaction.
