Three things to watch this week· September 8, 2015
Media outlook for this week: Three things to watch
- The state of the economy will continue to play a heavy role in the media coverage of the 2015 campaign. Several key dates and Statistics Canada second quarter indicator releases will be of interest in the upcoming weeks. BOC will release rate decision on Wednesday.
- Attention to the refugee crisis will remain in sharp focus. Germany and France have taken a lead role in relieving the immediate pressure faced by Europe, providing a direct comparison for Canada’s lack of action.
- Polling watch: Leger, Nanos, Ipsos and Forum all have CPC in third place at the moment. Innovative Research, Ekos and Abacus still have CPC in second. A lot of these changes are within the margin of error, and remember about 70% of Canadians have yet to make up their mind. There are over 40 days left in this campaign, enough time to travel half the world in a hot air balloon, and more than enough time for massive changes to these numbers.
