This week’s feature is on whiteboard animation.
Before the trend of the marker and whiteboard started, there was Lee LeFever; founder of Common Craft. These recognizable explanatory videos narrated by Lee himself use moving cutouts to explain complex ideas. [YouTube]
Then came the RSA, who utilized the adaptability and entertainment-value of the whiteboard animation. The RSAnimate series, which created a good amount of online buzz, was a definite positive change to the organisation’s teaching ability. As an example, check out these two videos of author Daniel Pink as he explains the truth about motivation. Fairly certain I don’t need to ask which one you found more interesting…
Here’s another great example of how whiteboards can help you visually explain complicated concepts. The White House White Board series have inspired us here at MediaStyle to experiment with whiteboard animations. [YouTube]
Inspired yet? Here’s a great guide to help you get your own whiteboard animation started! [31Volts]
But don’t forget to always think outside the box!
